SCHOLARSHIP AND MEANS-CUM-MERIT SCHEMES

   

Under the above scheme for the students belonging to Minority Communities launched by Ministry of Minorities Affairs, Government of India, for pursuing their studies from Primary to Post Graduation level (including Professional Courses), the minorities in Punjab (particularly Sikhs) do not get full benefit of this scheme.

So Directorate of Education of the Trust took the initiative, prepared the cases for the students of just two blocks of Patiala Distt. The scheme has now been extended to the whole state where district teams of SARBAT DA BHALA Charitable Trust (Regd.) are working vigorously. A seminar for creating awareness about this project was held on December 17, 2014 in Sunny Oberoi Arts Auditorium of Punjabi University, Patiala. Dr. Jaspal Singh Vice Chancellor Presided over the function.

    Sarbat Da Bhala Charitable Head Dr. S.P. Singh Oberoi handed over a check of Rs. 9.50 Lakhs to the Principal DE Khushwinder Kumar of Multani Mal Modi College Patiala for needy and deprived Students. It may be recalled that under the Sunny Oberoi Scholarship Scheme for needy students, Sarbat Da Bhala Charitable Trust has paid Rs. 47 lakh 30 thousand as fee to needy students studying at Multani Mall Modi College for the last 7 years. On this occasion, National General Secretary of the trust Gagandeep Singh Ahuja, Director Education Inderjit Kaur Gill, DE Atwal, Dr. Prabhleen singh etc. were also present. Scholarship Granted to VC of Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University Sri Fatehgarh Sahib by Dr. S.P. Singh Oberoi.     Presenting a cheque of Rs. 3,15,458/- regarding fees of 26 students of Gatka to Dr. Arvind Vice chancellor, Punjabi University by Inderjit Kaur Gill (Director, Education) & Dr. Prabhleen Singh.   Under the able guidance of Dr. SP Singh Oberoi , Managing Trustee Sarbat Da Bhala Charitable Trust (Regd.) Cheque of Rs 1,05,084/- to Mr. Amandeep Singh for 11 Students of Amar Shaheed Baba Ajit Singh Jujhar Singh Memorial College Bela, Roper.   Under the able guidance of Dr. SP Singh Oberoi , Managing Trustee Sarbat Da Bhala Charitable Trust (Regd.) Presenting four Cheques of Rs 5,54,000/- to Akal Group of Colleges, Mastuana Sahib.  
SDB Trust Grants Scholarship at IIT Ropar
Sarbat Da Bhala Charitable Trust (Regd.) handed over the Cheque of 2,50,000/- for the installment of year 2020, to the Director, IIT Ropar, Professor Rajeev Ahuja for distributing Scholarship to the Students and Faculty of IIT Ropar.   Encouraging IIT Ropar Researchers for Technical Research The Research arrangements of three Researchers of IIT Ropar were awarded with a prize money in which Mr. Piyush Mahajan was awarded a prize money of Rs. 50,000 for his dissertation for M.Tech in Mechanical Engineering. Mr. Nitin Reddy was awarded Rs. 30,000 for M.Tech Research in Electrical Engineering and Ms. Ankita Dey was also awarded Rs. 20,000 for M.Tech Research in Bio-Medical Engineering. Likewise in 2021 and 2022 SDBCT awarded Prize money in Continuity.   Scholarship : Sponsorship to brilliant students belonging to economically weaker sections is being facilitated to more than 11000 students of various institute including WA Modi College Patiala, Punjabi University Patiala in Nine Rural Colleges. Panjab University Chandigarh. Guru Nanak Dev University Amritsar. Baba Mpg Singh University Adampur Hoshiarpur, Khalsa College Amritsar, BRD Arya College Jalandhar, Govt. College Ropar, Mal Group of Institutes Mastuana Sahib (in five Constituent College), Arya Girls School books market Patiala. Heritage Public High School Jagatpura, Mohali, New Flower School Amritsar, Sary Hilton School Talwara. Govl.Sr.Sec.School (Girls) Talwara, Parkash Memorial Deaf & Dumb Handicapped Children. Dr. Abdul Haq Urdu University etc.     Providing monthly financial support to near about 3000 children from slum areas & taking care of their primary education, meals, books & uniforms are also provided to them.   Adopted 40 Nepali orphan children & constructing a Centre for 100 children in Kathmandu. Nepal & taking care of their education, lodging & boarding.   The Trust is providing special significant financial assistance to Prabh Asra Disabled Caretaker Social Welfare Society. PADIALA (Kurali-Kharar Road), which takes care of orphans. mentally retarded, physically disabled & unclaimed missing destitute.
